Kentucky Personal Injury Attorney William "Bill" Noelker

In 2005, William R. Noelker was accepted to Salmon P. Chase College of Law in Northern Kentucky after a successful career as a Navy Fighter Pilot and Commercial Pilot. While attending law school Bill maintained a full-time job working as the Victims Advocate for the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office for Kentucky’s 50th Judicial Circuit. While a law student, he was named to the Dean's List for academic excellence on numerous occasions, and ultimately graduated cum lade.

Bill also gained valuable operational experience by participating in several legal externships including positions as:

  • A law clerk for the Hon. Phil Taliaferro, a well-known and highly successful litigation attorney in Northern Kentucky.
  • A law clerk for the Hon. Margret Levi, Chief Counsel of Ephraim McDowell Hospital located in Danville, Kentucky.
  • A law clerk and Victims Advocate for the Hon. Richard Bottoms, Commonwealth Attorney for the 50th Judicial Circuit in Danville, Kentucky.
  • A Legal Intern for David Singleton, Executive Director of the Ohio Justice and Policy Center

In every one of these positions Bill gained valuable experience practicing many different types of law under the supervision of well-regarded, professional and ethical attorneys.

Assistant Commonwealth Attorney

Until June of 2017 Bill served as an assistant to Richie Bottoms, the Commonwealth Attorney for Boyle and Mercer Counties. He gained valuable trial experience as prosecutor and completely understands the Kentucky Criminal Justice system.

Military Service

Bill is a former U.S. Navy Fighter Pilot whose commitment to defending the rights and freedoms of others carries on in his legal practice today. Bill was awarded the coveted "Wings of Gold" in 1989 and became qualified in the Navy's premier fighter, the F/A-18 Hornet, in 1990. That same year, Bill was assigned to Fighter Attack Squadron Eighty-One, the Sunliners, and flew numerous combat missions from the deck of the Aircraft Carrier USS SARATOGA during operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Bill enjoyed a successful career in both the active and reserve Navy, eventually being promoted to Commander. Bill has earned numerous awards and citations, including the Air Medal for service in combat, the Navy Commendation Medal with combat V for valor in combat, the Navy Achievement Medal and numerous unit and campaign ribbons.

After the devastating terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, Bill volunteered to return to active duty and was assigned to the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland, Maryland. While there he served as an aviation consultant and contributed to the production of aviation intelligence for the Global War on Terror. He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for his service.

Commercial Pilot

Following his active duty Navy career in 1996, Bill was hired by United Airlines as a commercial pilot. He served as a First Officer on the Boeing 737-300 / 500 and the Boeing 747-400 and as Captain on the Airbus A-319/320 before leaving in 2005. He also worked as a Check Airman for United Airlines on the Boeing 747-400 and is type rated in the Boeing 747-400 as well as the Airbus A-319/320.

Bill has amassed over 20 years of military and commercial flying experience. He has flown in combat, off of carriers and in all possible weather conditions. He has operated in many regions of the world and understands the complexity of the international aviation system.
